Cutting station tables.

The cutting station has three tables, an infeed and outfeed table on each end and one in the centre with the table saw. Each is built from 2 x 2 timber with a melamine top so the timber slides easily through the saw.

We looked at putting rollers in the infeed and outfeed tables but unless the rollers are perfectly aligned the end up pushing the board into or out of the saw blade, ruining your cuts. Even with the best rollers, it’s all too easy to knock one out of true with some heavy timber, and the first you’ll know if it is when your cut boards are coming out skewed.

One option is to use omnidirectional rollers, but it’s easier and cheaper to use a low friction surface, and melamine is perfect.
